Cookie Policy (ZA)

This policy explains how Africa Upper Room Ministries ("AURM", "we") uses cookies and similar technologies on aurm.co.za, and the choices you have. We follow the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website saves in your browser. Some are needed for the site to work. Others, like statistics and marketing cookies, can be linked to you, so under POPIA we treat the information they collect as personal information and only use them with your consent.
Your choices
When you first visit, nothing beyond what the site needs is switched on until you choose. You can accept all, reject all or choose per category, and change your mind any time: open your cookie settings. If you withdraw consent, we stop using those cookies straight away and remove the ones we can. We ask again after 12 months, or sooner if this policy changes.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site (like the cart) may then not work.
Needed for the site to work
Always on. Without these, the cart, checkout and your account would not work. POPIA allows these because they are needed to give you what you asked for.

Information sent outside South Africa
Google, Microsoft, Meta and Mailchimp store information on servers outside South Africa, mostly in the USA and Europe. We only use them if you consent, and they are bound by their own data protection terms and laws that give protection comparable to POPIA (POPIA section 72).
Proof of your choice
When you make a choice we keep a record of it: a random ID (also saved in your aurm_consent cookie), what you chose, the version of this policy and the date. It does not include your name, email or full internet address. We keep these records for 24 months.
Your rights
Under POPIA you may ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and object to its use for direct marketing. If you are unhappy with how we handled your information, you may complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa): inforegulator.org.za.
Changes
We update this policy when we add or remove a service. When the change matters, we ask for your consent again.
