His writing, teaching and ministry carry a deep commitment to spiritual growth, discipleship in community, and connection across denominations. Over four decades, Rev. Hudson has left a lasting mark on Christian life in South Africa and beyond.
A life given to ministry and spiritual formation
Rev. Hudson has served in the Methodist Church in Southern Africa for more than 40 years, mostly around Johannesburg. His ministry is rooted in the local congregation, where he walks with individuals and communities as they grow in faith.
Much of his work involves guiding people through the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius, a practice of prayer, reflection and discernment. Through it he has helped many deepen their relationship with God and meet life's challenges with faith and grace.
A voice heard around the world
He works with the Jesuit Institute of South Africa and the Institute for Creative Conversation, and lectures internationally, including at Fuller Seminary, Gardner-Webb University and the Renovaré International Institute for Christian Spiritual Formation. His teaching bridges theological traditions with practical insight.
